"Early Intervention has done wonders for Zach. If we had not gotten involved at a very young age, he may not be as advanced as he is. We are thrilled with the program and all it has accomplished."

– Mindi Kiefer, Charlotte, NC

"With Dreamweavers' help Logan has achieved all his first goals and is now working on walking. Ana was the first to get Logan to take 4 steps. We all cheered and clapped and I had tears in my eyes as I watched my son smile."

Early Intervention
This service focuses on the overall developmental growth of children birth to age 3. Services are provided in the child’s most natural environment (home, daycare, preschool, park, church, etc.) and address goals defined in the child’s Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP). Parent involvement is encouraged and crucial to the success of these services. Staff providing this service meet, exceed, or are working toward the NC Infant-Toddler Certification requirements.

Individual and group services are available. Group services are provided in the Dreamweavers office and focus on communication and social skills training.

Spanish speaking families may receive
services in Spanish upon request.

Las familias de habla Hispana pueden recibir servicios en Español si lo requieren.

Infant Mental Health
Infant Mental Health focuses on and supports the relationship between babies and their primary caregivers. A consistent, warm relationship with primary caregivers creates a basis for infants’ future ability to form other relationships.

The focus of infant mental health is:
  • to identify relationship issues at the point where they begin to emerge
  • to strengthen and improve the parent/child attachment
  • to teach positive discipline and behavior modification
  • to identify what makes children feel emotionally safe
The relationship-based approach to infant mental health looks at three factors:
  • Parent Education
  • Parent/Child Play Therapy
  • Addressing behavioral issues in the home and daycare center
